My work builds on the standard psychiatric model, taking a comprehensive view of the factors that shape mental health over time. In addition to careful diagnostic assessment and medication management, I attend closely to lifestyle, habits, nutrition, relationships, and other contributors to psychological resilience and vitality.
Prescription medications are used thoughtfully and conservatively, with attention to both potential benefits and risks. When clinically appropriate, treatment may include laboratory evaluation, targeted supplementation, or referral for more advanced functional medicine assessment or complementary modalities.
I welcome a wide range of presenting concerns and goals. My practice tends to be a good fit for people seeking a holistic approach. I’m comfortable working with those interested in minimizing or avoiding long-term medication use. I offer both ongoing care and time-limited consultations, including second opinions.

Psychotherapy is a central pillar of my work. My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic and attachment-based perspective, with particular attention to the impact of developmental and traumatic experiences. My style is informed by my training in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and by the spiritual and psychotherapeutic traditions that have coalesced therein.

KAP is a subdomain within the broader arena of therapeutic ketamine in psychiatry. In KAP, the non-ordinary state of consciousness occasioned by ketamine is leveraged to facilitate the work of depth psychotherapy. In this context I hold ketamine as a prescribable consciousness-altering substance akin to (but distinct from) other psychedelics that are currently only legally available in the research domain. Ketamine is administered sublingually or via intramuscular injection.
While clinical trials are under way that demonstrate significant promise for KAP, the use of ketamine for mental health conditions is considered an off-label and experimental treatment without final FDA approval. Prior to engaging in this work, you will receive a full advisement and consent form outlining the benefits and risks of KAP.

I'm a MAPS-certified MDMA therapist, trained in the therapeutic use of psychedelic compounds. I contributed to the Phase 3 trials of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD at UCSF, and later served as a research physician at the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics, studying the effects of psilocybin.
While I am not able to provide psychedelic therapies other than ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) in my practice, I offer consultation services to patients or fellow professionals wishing to better understand this evolving field. For those who are considering the use of these substances I am glad to provide information on the known risks and potential benefits. I also offer psychotherapeutic integration services for those seeking support in the wake of past psychedelic experiences.
Please note that I do not encourage or facilitate the violation of any law, including the acquisition, distribution, or sale of any illegal psychedelic substance.
